Focus on Her Strengths

As women we encounter different challenges in learning how to physically protect ourselves. Often, techniques that are learned in a martial arts environment are not practical for a woman to apply in reality. An attacker is typically stronger, taller, heavier, faster, angrier and has the element of surprise on his/her side. Techniques and systems designed to release holds and free women from pins must be designed based on these limitations. Women’s techniques should focus on their strengths and the attackers weaknesses. Never underestimate the strength of an attacker, nor over estimate your abilities. If you can avoid a dangerous situation, pursue that path.
